Étampé, wine store and wine bar facing the MAS in Antwerp. Étampé was created with simple principles. The drive to find out what the wine world has to offer besides the walked paths. To find winemakers that are ballsy enough to leave the classical appellations far behind and just make wine that tastes great and are made as naturally as possible. Too many winemakers claim to create “sustainable wines”. Many of the winemakers we meet who take the right approach do so without the currently hyped certification, simply because they believe there is only one way wine should be made. The wines we represent are made sustainably, organically/biologically or biodynamically, on a small scale, from grapes grown in low-yielding, dry-farmed vineyards, harvested by hand. The wines we represent aren't made with laboratory yeasts but with ambient yeasts so that the fermented grapes can naturally express themselves and the place from which they come. Over the last few years, we’ve come across several amazing wines. Especially the passion we discovered in the small wines from France (don’t be mistaken by the word “small”, winemakers create balanced and pure wines with the “Vin De France” appellation which gives them the freedom to really “give it all she’s got”). We don’t limit ourselves in our search by selecting a region, we challenge ourselves to find “our kind of wines” all over the world. We are currently exploring France, Italy and the States. Étampé is a wine store in Antwerp, facing the beautiful museum, MAS. Our store also serves as a wine bar with an amazing view on the museum and the marina which gives us the possibility to organize tastings, courses, events etc. Stop by any time for a drink!
